- Years 3-4: Renew permit; spend at least 21 days over each two-year renewal period.
- Year 5: Apply for permanent residency or citizenship, meeting language and legal requirements.

- Job Creation: Establish a business creating at least 10 full-time jobs.

- Cultural/Heritage Preservation: €250,000+ contribution toward projects preserving Portugal’s cultural heritage.
Note: As of October 2023, real estate investments are no longer eligible.
Application Process:
- Select Investment: Choose from eligible investment avenues.
- Prepare Documentation: Gather passport, proof of investment, health insurance, criminal record, etc.
- Apply: Submit via the AIMA ARI portal, independently or with legal assistance.
- Biometrics: Attend appointment in Portugal.
- Approval & Permit: Receive initial two-year residence permit upon approval.
